Westside planning committee needs residents
The Costa Mesa City Council is looking for residents with a vested
interest in the future of the Westside to serve in a large, dynamic
committee designed to map out a plan for the neighborhood.
The Westside Redevelopment Action Committee will work as the public
facilitator to define the purpose, goals, success and future for the
city’s Westside. It will also work to prepare an action plan to implement
the recommendations.
One member will be appointed by each council member, and five at-large
members will be appointed by the council. Two members will also be chosen
from a list of designated community organizations.
Except for the at-large members, all applicants must be legal
residents, and must live or own property or a business within the
Westside boundaries. The Westside is generally defined as the southwest
portion of the city, west of Harbor and Newport boulevards and south of
the Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club, Estancia High School and Fairview
Park.
