Girls basketball: Klein’s 21 leads to CdM win

CORONA DEL MAR - Corona del Mar junior Kelliann Klein scored 21

points to guide a balanced attack past visiting Laguna Beach, 66-24, in a

Pacific Coast League opener Tuesday.

The senior backcourt duo of Courtney Kawata (13 points) and Andrea

Gruber (10) also contributed for CdM (6-10, 1-0 in the PCL). Gruber also

added seven steals and five assists.

The Sea Kings will resume play Thursday at 7 p.m., visiting

Newport-Mesa District rival Estancia.
