Girls soccer: Sea Kings shut out Artists

CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High girls soccer team answered

its 1-0 loss to Newport Harbor Saturday with a 4-0 win over visiting

Laguna Beach to open Pacific Coast League play Tuesday.

CdM senior Allison Harvey scored both of her goals in the first half

off assist from seniors Jacqueline Thayer and Allison Brawner. In the

second half, junior Olivia Mazura also scored two goals, both assisted by

junior Lauren Shepherdson.

CdM (8-3-3, 1-0 in the PCL), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section

Division IV, will play at Estancia Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Laguna Beach dropped to 3-5-3, 0-1.

“I knew we were going to bounce back, because (the loss to Newport)

was one of our worst performances,” CdM Coach Ron Evans said. “Everyone

stepped up and played extremely well.”
