Northwood High stamped itself as the favorite to win the Pacific

Coast League boys soccer championship Wednesday, shelling visiting

Estancia, 3-0, as the Timberwolves improved to 8-3-1 with its

league-opening victory.

Estancia Coach Steve Crenshaw watched his team fall to 3-7 overall,

but had no complaints with his team’s performance on Northwood’s small

field.

“We played well,” said Crenshaw. “We came to play and everyone played

very well.”

Two factors played heavily in Estancia’s demise, and those were

injuries to defenders Abdul Kaiyum and Sergio Vivar, who suffered similar

fates.

“Basically they were run over and stomped on,” said Crenshaw. “But

there were no fouls called.”

Estancia goalie Giovanni Gonzalez was credited with five saves.
