AYSO Region 57: CdM takes second

The Corona del Mar girls under-10 All-Star team in Region 57 took

second place at the Holiday Classic soccer tournament.

Corona del Mar lost its first game, 2-1, to a club team from San

Fernando Valley, but rebounded with a 3-0 victory over the OCU Rush club

team.

CdM went on to defeat the North Irvine All-Star team, 4-1, but fell to

the Pacific Soccer Club, 1-0.

Claire Schmidt led CdM in scoring with a hat trick against OCU and a

tournament total of five goals.

Mara Schmidt, Alexandra Reinach and Kelli Feeley each scored goals for

CdM. Sarah Keddington provides support on offense while Claire Eadington

controled the midfield.

The defense was anchored by Jordan Dillion, Anna Venturini, Leila

Pozin and Stephanie Horwitz. Corey Cano was strong in the net, allowing

only four goals in the tourney.
