Boys basketball: Lightning earns first league win

Sage Hill High went on a late run to earn a 59-51 victory over

visiting Capistrano Valley Christian in an Academy League boys basketball

game Friday.

Michael Fitzhugh scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed a school

record 19 rebounds for the Lightning (4-5, 1-1 in league). Kevin Joyce

pitched in with 17 points and nine boards for Sage Hill.

With two minutes left to play Sage Hill held on to a four-point

advantage. Joyce and Erik Williams (10 points) each hit two free throws

to extend the Lightning’s lead.

Capistrano Valley Christian falls to 1-1 in league.
