In the city of Costa Mesa, a battle is brewing over recreational

vehicles -- those big autos usually covered with stickers proclaiming

that the occupant has visited 47 of the 50 states so far. Maybe it

doesn’t seem like the most exciting of photo assignments to take a

picture of someone with his RV, but I saw it differently. When I met RV

owner Bill Folsom and saw his machine, I thought of ways to bring drama

to the photo, and decided to light the subject in a more visually

interesting way. I used a wide-angle lens to include more background

information in the photo. Hopefully, the photo appealed to the readers

and helped to draw them into the text of the story.
