WEATHER FORECAST

While it appears the day will start off with dense fog, especially

along the Newport Beach coast, most of the day should be sunny, with

highs stretching into the upper 60s. The low clouds will return in the

late evening. But, overall, it’s not terrible following such a beautiful

weekend.

Unfortunately, the rest of the week will provide partly sunny

conditions with much cooler temperatures. In other words, enjoy today.

BOATING FORECAST

Tread cautiously as dense fog rules the morning today. Later, the

northwesterly wind will blow about 10 knots in the inner waters this

afternoon, with 1-foot waves and a west swell of 3 to 5 feet. The fog

will return late this evening.

Out farther, the dense fog will also hover about. Then, the

northwesterly winds will blow their typical 10 to 15 knots, with 2-foot

waves and a northwest swell of 9 feet. This evening, the winds will kick

up to 10 to 20 knots, with 3-foot waves.

SURF

You just might want to stay high and dry most of this week. In fact,

not until Friday will you anything that’ll quench your surfing thirst.

Today, you’ll find knee- to waist-high waves.

And it’ll get even smaller as the week progresses until Friday, when

we should see another northwest swell roll in. Even then, surf probably

won’t top the shoulder range this week. Oh well, at least it was a little

better last week.
