While an answer to a few prayers may become relevant after a few too
many drinks in a local pub, one customer at Skosh Monahan’s was concerned
with a more concrete symbol of religion while in the restroom.
Councilman Gary Monahan, the bar’s owner, said somebody stole an old
Celtic Cross out of the men’s restroom last week. The crime baffled the
small business owner.
The circle of the Celtic Cross is said to be a symbol of eternity that
emphasizes the endlessness of God’s love.
“Anybody who lives by the principles that the cross represents should
never stoop to stealing it,” he said.
Another identical cross hangs in the ladies’ restroom, also. Monahan
said he hopes it will stay put.
