Prep wrestling: York paces CdM

IRVINE - Corona del Mar High senior heavyweight Sterling York

earned his first varsity victory, one of the Sea King’ six pins, to key a

53-24 Pacific Coast League wrestling win at Northwood Tuesday.

Brian Freedman (125 pounds), Ben Inouye (130), Cameron Posipisil

(145), Brad Sperber (189), and Steve Shipman (215) all joined York with

pins for the visitors (10-5, 1-1 in the PCL).

York stuck his opponent 83 seconds into the first period.

CdM’s Chris Bello (135) also earned a technical fall for his 18-3 win.

CdM visits Estancia Thursday, then concludes its PCL schedule Tuesday

against Costa Mesa.
