Despite having a five-man roster for its game Sunday against La

Mirada, the South Huntington Beach Chargers still had more than enough

firepower to hand the host team a one-sided setback, 70-35, in boys’

National Junior Basketball action.

The Chargers, now 6-0, raced out to a 47-23 halftime lead and never

were threatened.

T.J. Lipold led the attack with 22 points. Casey Becker scored 14

points, Thomas Marcin and Michael Hardwick each scored 12 points and Tim

Golden contributed nine for the Chargers, who return home Sunday to host

Fullerton in a 1:15 p.m. tip-off at Edison High.
