A Brazilian Carnival/Mardi Gras will be held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Jan. 25, 26 and Feb. 1, 2, 8 and 9 at the Old World Festival Hall, 7561

Center Ave. The show combines samba and showgirls. There will be beads,

masks, full bars, Cajun and Brazilian food and costume contests. Tickets

The McKenna Volkswagen Pacific Shoreline Marathon will be held from 7

a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. The marathon, half marathon and 5K youth

mile run will start at Pier Plaza at Pacific Coast Highway and Main
