WEATHER FORECAST

Winds and low to mid-50s

There stands a great chance of rain this afternoon through Tuesday

night. Early today, however, clouds will dominate the sky as strong

breezes blow. Highs will only the reach the mid-50s today and the low 50

Tuesday. The strong winds will accompany the rain, perhaps even an

occasional thunderstorm, both days. Lows will stay in the mid-40s.

The good news is Wednesday spells sunny.

BOATING FORECAST

In the inner waters, the northwesterly winds will blow 10 to 15 knots

early, generating 2-foot waves with a swell of 3 to 5 feet. Once the

storm rolls in this afternoon, however, the winds will become westerly

and will pick up to 10 to 20 knots, with 1- to 3-foot waves and a

northwest swell of 8 to 11 feet. Some fog will be found as well.

Out farther, conditions will be similar early, though with a swell of

8 to 11 feet. Later, the northwesterly winds will blow a strong 15 to 25

knots, with 2- to 4-foot winds and a 7- to 9-foot swell. Strong winds

will continue through Tuesday.

SURF

The latest northwest swell will peak today, generating waves in the

chest- to shoulder-high range and the occasional head-high.

Unfortunately, today’s rain will increase the urban runoff that ends up

in along the coast, so it may be healthiest to stick to land.

Conditions will be similar on Tuesday, complete with rain and runoff.

Though Wednesday will be clear in the skies, it still probably would be

wise to avoid the ocean.
