WHAT HAPPENED:

Supt. Susan Roper suggested that $1.4 million be cut from the district

budget in light of the state budget crunch.

Roper and Tish Koch, assistant superintendent of business services,

presented a report on the current fiscal status of the district and

state, and presented a proposal to balance the 2002-03 district budget at

Tuesday’s study session.

Roper said that the proposed cut would be felt “across the board” in

terms of the affect it would have on district programs.

An opportunity for public input will be heard at its next regular

scheduled board meeting, set for Feb. 12, and the board will take action

on the proposal at its March 12 meeting.

NEXT MEETING

When: Feb. 12, 7 p.m.,

Where: District Education Center, 10251 Yorktown Ave.
