The Braille Institute will offer free classes at the Rogers Senior

WEDNESDAY

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 53 will offer a

10-lesson course on basic through advanced coastal navigation at 6 p.m.

Wednesdays starting Jan. 23. Classes will be held at the Boat/U.S. Marine

Center, 16390 Pacific Coast Highway. The course will include instruction

on reading charts, direction, time, tides and fuel and voyage planning.

The Huntington Beach Adult Literacy Program is holding the 2002 Trivia

The Orange County Chapter of the California Assn. of Family and

Marriage Therapists is sponsoring a weekly education workshop for couples

PARENTING

The Moms Offering Moms Support Club, a nonprofit support group for

stay-at-home mothers, organizes daily activities for mothers and their

children including park play days, fun field trips and age appropriate

play groups. Special interest activities just for mom are included. Every

month, members perform service projects to assist several organizations

The Pacific Coast Mothers Club, based in the Huntington Beach area, is

actively seeking new members. The group offers stay-at-home and employed

mothers an opportunity to socialize and make lifelong friends with other

moms, kids and families. The club offers weekly, age specific play

groups, children’s parties and activities, fun and educational monthly

outings just for moms, and volunteer opportunities that benefit local

The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, a support group for family

and friends or those caring for the mentally ill meets the second and

Jewish Family Service offers free ongoing bereavement support groups

for adults at all stages of loss at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and 1

p.m. Thursdays. The groups share experiences about dealing with grief,
