The world famous Huntington Beach Pier will be the site today and

Friday of the OpT3 contest.

Now in its second year, the two-day surfing event features a tag-team

approach as some of the top teams in two pro, one junior and one girls,

will compete for half of the $20,000 prize purse.

Huntington Beach’s Jeff Deffenbaugh is scheduled to be among a list of

competitors that also includes Tim Curran, Dan Malloy, Gavin Beshen,

Sofia Mulanovich and Julia Christian.

Competition runs daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. An awards presentation

will be held Friday following the day’s final event at Duke’s.
