Maria Sanchez scored in the 60th minute for the Estancia High girls

soccer team, but it was the only goal the Eagles could come up with in a

5-1 Pacific Coast League loss to visiting Laguna Beach Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Stephanie Veliz had seven saves, Erika Plietez made eight

saves and Amanda Abbott piled up five in the net for Estancia (2-18, 0-9

in league).

The Eagles were without one of their top players, Arlis Reynolds, who

was out with an ankle sprain.

Laguna Beach (5-7-5, 3-3-3 in the PCL) came on strong in the first

half, scoring four goals to take a commanding lead.
