WEATHER FORECAST

We’ll actually start the morning with some coastal fog and other

low-flying clouds, but they’ll burn off for sunny conditions that will

continue through the afternoon. Highs will stay a few degrees shy of 70,

but it should feel warmer. Lows, meanwhile, will hover around the

50-degree mark.

On Friday, the clouds will stick around longer, though the sun will

shine often. Highs will hang around the mid-60s. A mini-heat wave may

keep Newport-Mesa warm this weekend. Highs may strike the mid-70s. Enjoy.

BOATING FORECAST

Some areas of dense fog will be found early and late today. The

northwesterly winds will blow 10 to 20 knots, generating 1- to 3-foot

waves with a west swell of 6 feet this afternoon. The swell will build

later to 7 to 9 feet.

Out farther, a small-craft advisory should be in effect as the

northwesterly winds blow 15 to 25 knots throughout the day. Expect 2- to

4-foot waves and a northwest swell of 8 to 10 feet. The swell will build

to 10 to 12 feet later.

SURF

The latest northwest swell will make today somewhat worth hitting the

water as chest-high surf rolls in. If all works out well, it’ll be

accompanied by some chest-highs too. But, on Friday, it should be well

worth the short trip to the beach.
