OCEAN VIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT WRAP-UP

WHAT HAPPENED:

At the recommendation of staff, the board awarded 16 trade contracts

for the school district’s four gymnasium/auditorium projects. Board

member Carol Kanode was not present for the vote.

WHAT IT MEANS:

Bids went to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders. The amount

of the recommended awards totaled $9,934,224. In addition, district

administration rejected all bid packages in the areas of finish

carpentry, casework and building specialties, and also did not award a

contract in the area of resilient flooring and resilient athletic

surfacing. That bid is still under evaluation.
