A Brazilian Carnival/Mardi Gras will be held from 8 p.m. Feb. 8 and 9

at the Old World Festival Hall, 7561 Center Ave. The show combines samba

and showgirls. There will be beads, masks, full bars, Cajun and Brazilian

SATURDAY

The Academy of Performing Arts will benefit from a concert from 4 to 8

p.m. Feb. 9 at Huntington Beach High School, 1905 Main St. The proceeds

will be used for equipment and technology supplies for the expansion of

the Song Writing and Recording Arts program at APA. Tickets are $6.

SUNDAY

The Orange County Transporter Organization is hosting a Volkswagen Bus

Show. There will be more than 250 restored and original VW buses, trucks

and pop-top campers from the early 50s to the late 60s. Specialty VWs on

display will include fire trucks, ambulances and vintage hippie buses.

The free event will be 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 10 at Huntington Beach High

School, 1905 Main St.
