Neiman Marcus is now selling Oscar De la Renta’s Home Collection by

Slatkin & Co, which includes scented candles, potpourri and room spray.

The Home Collection was inspired by Oscar De la Renta’s three homes, and

the scents are named City, Country and Island. City is a combination of

green bamboo and jasmine, blended with muguet, essence of hyacinth, bois

de rose and Japanese iris. His Park Avenue apartment in New York inspired

it. Country consists of paper whites, night blooming jasmine, lily of the

valley, fresh peach and orange, all inspired by his Connecticut

countryside home. Island is a blend of ylang ylang, Madras jasmine,

honeysuckle, tuberose and fresh heliotrope that was inspired by his

childhood memories of the Dominican Republic. City, Country and Island

are available in a 12-ounce large candle with a 50-hour burn time for

$38, a four-ounce room spray for $28, and a 1.5 quart box of dry

potpourri for $38. Neiman Marcus is at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

Dunhill reopened Friday at South Coast Plaza after an extensive

remodel. The new 1,500-square-foot store is on the second level outside

of Saks Fifth Avenue. The fine men’s apparel and accessories store offers

ready-to-wear, leather goods, watches, pens, lighters, gifts, games and

more. There’s also a full custom shirt program. The dunhill brand began

in 1893, originally as a luxury accessorist to the automobile, and plans

to grow worldwide as a luxury brand company for men. Since the opening of

its new concept store on London’s Old Bond Street, the South Coast Plaza

store is the first of its kind in the United States. Future stores of

this kind will open on Fifth Avenue in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and

Puerto Rico. (714) 641-0521.

Local artists Sher Swaim and Sharon Dion are taking on commissioned

portrait art from your photographs. They are experienced oil painters

with an emphasis on portrait art. “Creating a special remembrance of a

cherished child, relative or friend makes a wonderful addition to a

home,” Swaim says. As both artists have busy schedules, portraits can

take up to six months to complete, so they advise to plan accordingly

when considering a commissioned artwork. Prices on the portraits vary

depending on the size and amount of detail involved. (949) 675-5385.
