Bahia Corinthian gets OK to rebuild dock

The California Coastal Commission has approved the Bahia Corinthian

Yacht Club’s plans to rebuild the dock, gangway and boat hoist at the

edge of the harbor.

The commission unanimously approved the project at its Wednesday

meeting in San Diego.

Yacht club officials have proposed demolishing the club’s boat hoist,

gangway and floating dock. They will then erect two 8,000-pound hoists to

lift boats out of the water.

Plans are also underway to enlarge the club’s dock platform by about 6

1/2 feet. The new platform, which is set to be built in solid concrete,

would measure 40 by 16 1/2 feet.

The club is at 1601 Bayside Drive, Corona del Mar.
