Community college men’s basketball: Gauchos too much for Pirates

MISSION VIEJO - The Orange Coast College men’s basketball team

could not contend with defending Orange Empire Conference champion

Saddleback and lost, 87-53, Friday night at the Gauchos’ gym.

OCC freshman Wyshawn Wade came off the bench to lead the Pirates

(6-18, 3-7 in conference) with 16 points, while sophomore guard Ryan

Webster added nine.

The Gauchos (24-3, 10-0) remained undefeated in the OEC, outscoring

the Pirates, 45-25, in the second half, after leading, 42-28, at

halftime.
