Youth Soccer: CdM All-Star squad prevails

Beach Saturday.

Newport and CdM are in first and second places in the AYSO Area Q

All-Star Tournament. CdM’s defense notched its fifth shutout in eight

games. Newport averaged four goals per game going into Saturday’s

contest.

Sarah Keddington, Kelli Feely, Claire Eadington, Claire Schmidt,

Ashleigh Smith and Mara Schmidt led CdM’s attack while Jordan Dillion,

Stephanie Horwitz and Leila Pozin kept the defensive pressure on Newport.

Goalkeeper Corey Cano denied Newport’s offensive attack.

The all-star tournament ends with two games for each team Saturday.
