1. Have a bear of a time as Grizzly People founder and wildlife

photographer Timothy Treadwell will conduct a slide show and lecture on

the mysteries of the Alaskan grizzly bear at 7:30 p.m. today at the North

Face in Costa Mesa. The evening will include refreshments. The store is

2. Dance the night away at the 2002 Sweetheart Ball to help raise

funds for the Hoag Heart Institute. The ball will begin at 6 p.m.

Saturday at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa. The dance

will be put on by the 552 Club of Hoag Hospital Foundation and Tiffany &

3. Show off your talents at “Sunday Night Live,” a performance in

self-expression through music, song, dance, comedy and readings. The

program will start at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Center for Spiritual

Discovery, 2850 Mesa Verde Drive East, Costa Mesa. $8, $5 for seniors

ages 60 and older, $3 for children age 10 and younger. Attendees will
