Surf and Sun
WEATHER FORECAST
The best part of a day after it rains are the crisp, fresh conditions
that appear. And, if luck has it that this partly cloudy day doesn’t
cloud the mountains, we may see snow -- at least from afar.
Anyway, here in Newport-Mesa, though, the sun will shine from time to
time between clouds and highs will barely top 60 degrees. Overnight lows
will stay just a tad below 50.
Tuesday’s looking cloudier with similar readings, but Thursday may see
us return to temperatures in the 70s. Oh how wonderful Southern
California can be to us.

BOATING FORECAST
The northwesterly winds will blow 5 to 15 knots, with 2-foot waves and
a west swell of 5 to 9 feet in the inner waters this afternoon. Later,
expect the swell to decrease to 4 to 6 feet.
Out farther, the northwesterly winds will blow 10 to 20 knots, with 1-
to 3-knot waves and a northwest swell of 10 to 12 feet. The winds will
ease into the evening and the swell should follow suit at 7 to 9 feet.
SURF
The rain on Sunday makes it a bit risky to take in today’s great surf,
some of which should go head-high. Expect much of it in the shoulder-high
range, though. On Tuesday, if you can hold out till then, there should be
some waist- to chest-high surf. Water quality:o7 www.surfrider.orgf7
