AYSO Region 120: Mesa rolls

Costa Mesa defeated South Huntington Beach, 2-1, and crushed East

Huntington Beach, 7-0, in AYSO Region 120 all-star soccer action for boys

under 14.

Against South Huntington Beach, Matt Grella passed the ball up to

Austin Evett, who scored on a breakaway. Blake Pinto kept things going

with a goal on a centering pass from Rigo Miranda.

In Mesa’s battle with East Huntington Beach, Miranda, Trevor McDonald

and Alberto Nava scored first-half goals with assists from Kenneth Zich,

Miranda and Luis Cozza.

Mesa kept the ball rolling in the second half, with goals from Thomas

Kosnosky, Grella, Evett and Kyle Thorsness. Benny Edles pitched in with

an assist.

Also contributing to Costa Mesa’s victory were William Briseno and

Josh Knauer.
