HB Silver’s win streak continues

The HB Silver continued their winning ways in AYSO boys’ Under-12

Division All-star tournament play last weekend as the Region 56 squad

blanked Corona del Mar, 1-0, and defeated Huntington Beach East, 3-1.

In the weekend’s first game, Ri Hansler scored on a breakaway late in

the first quarter and the goal stood as the Silver defense shut out

Corona del Mar.

The second game, against an undefeated East Huntington Beach team,

featured tough defense with outstanding play by goalies Steven Moore and

Chaz Haffke during the 3-1 win.

Hansler scored on an assist by Clayton Brown for the Silver’s first

goal and Jacob Sobelman’s fourth quarter goal, off a Sammy Captan feed,

put the game out of reach.
