Chargers rout Superstars, 33-9

In their final game of the regular season, the South Huntington Beach
Chargers defeated the Fountain Valley Superstars, 33-9, in a girls’
National Junior Basketball Division I game.
The triumph capped an unbeaten regular season for the Chargers, who
ended the campaign at 10-0.
All 10 Chargers got into the scoring act, led by Wendy Blyth’s seven
points. Karly Damico and Anne Stapleton each finished with five points
and Lauren Kaprielian scored four. Seda Bolulu, Danielle Grant, Wahine
Kepilino, Simone Ibbotson, Elyse van Leer and Krystle Hosokawa also got
into the act.

Kay-Dee Lane scored 15 points, Kayla Morgan added 10 points and Nadra
Chamaa pulled down nine rebounds as the host Comets, despite playing the
game with six players, improved to 6-1 in White Conference play. A key to
the Comets’ victory was making 19 of 27 free throw attempts, including 11
of 14 by Lane.
