Youth soccer: Registration held

The city of Costa Mesa will begin conducting co-ed youth soccer

registration Friday at the Balearic Center in Costa Mesa.

Registration will continue, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5

p.m., until March 29.

Teams will consist of no more than 11 players. One squad from each age

group will be fielded from each school. Teams consist of children from

grades 1 through 3, and 4 through 6.

This informal soccer league is designed to teach basic soccer skills

and sportsmanship. The program will last eight weeks, with the first two

focusing on skill development, and the last six consisting of practices
