CdM falls, 3-1

Corona del Mar High’s softball team dropped a 3-1 nonleague

decision at Notre Dame Academy in Culver City Tuesday as the hosts used

an 11-hit attack to drop CdM to 2-2 overall.

The Sea Kings had one extra base hit, a first-inning, one-out triple

by Amy Tyson, but she was left stranded on the basepaths.

Corona del Mar’s only score came in the fifth inning when Meaghan

Casey walked, Sarah Stern got aboard on a fielder’s choice, Casey Bunney

singled and Heather Lohrman chased Stern home with a run-scoring base

hit.

Alissa Zoelle struck out three and walked three for CdM.

Corona del Mar hosts Back Bay rival Newport Harbor on Thursday,

starting at 3:30 p.m.
