Corona del Mar lawyer in November runoff
A Corona del Mar resident tasted victory Tuesday and will face off
again in November as she battles for an Orange County Superior Court
judgeship.
Glenda Sanders, who was the top vote-getter in the race for Office No.
27, gained 47.9% of the votes.
Sanders, 46, will meet Irvine Deputy Dist. Atty. David Brent, who
garnered 41.4% of the votes. Costa Mesa trial attorney Mark Farrar also
ran but received only 10.7%.
Sanders graduated from law school in England but returned to her
native South Africa to defend black men accused of crimes under the
apartheid system.
She also spent 14 years handling civil case for a Costa Mesa firm,
until leaving in 2000 to represent her own clients.
