Community college baseball: Pirates edged by Riverside
RIVERSIDE - The Orange Coast College baseball team suffered a
letdown in the fourth inning that it could not overcome, which led to a
4-2 Orange Empire Conference loss to defending state champion Riverside,
at the Tigers’ field Thursday.
The Pirates (13-5, 2-3 in the OEC) committed an error in the fourth
inning and could not turn a routine double play that led to Riverside’s
first run of four in that frame.
Coast, an OEC preseason favorite which has lost two in a row, will
return to conference action today at noon at Santa Ana.
