Boys volleyball: Mesa outlasts Rancho

COSTA MESA - Senior Jordan Feldman had 10 kills and some spectacular defensive saves to help short-handed Costa Mesa High earn a

15-6, 6-15, 15-8, 5-15, 15-10 nonleague boys volleyball triumph over

visiting Rancho Alamitos Monday.

“Feldman made four absolutely incredible saves in the fifth game,”

Mesa Coach Dave Sorrells said. “And, he stepped up (10 kills) at outside

hitter, for Eli Solis, who was out of school today.”

Mesa senior middle blocker Jeff Collett had eight blocks and six kills

and senior outside hitter Carlos Jaime produced 12 kills for the winners

(5-1). It was the third five-game match this year for the Mustangs, who

are unbeaten in fifth games.

Mesa hosts Katella today.
