REDONDO BEACH - Corona del Mar High freshman Wess Presson, among

five underclassmen in the starting lineup, went 2 for 3, but host Redondo

Union earned a 9-1 nonleague baseball victory Tuesday.

Presson now trails only UCLA-bound senior Billy Eagle for the team

hitting lead, but Eagle was home sick Tuesday and it showed.

CdM Coach John Emme said sophomore Blake Contant had five strong

innings on the mound against the Seahawks (3-3).

Josh Bradbury and Keith Long had doubles for CdM (2-4), which opens

defense of its Pacific Coast League title Friday at this year’s favorite,

Northwood. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
