Roller Hockey: Newport takes out Esperanza, 11-3

The Newport Harbor Frosh-Soph Roller Hockey club skated to an 11-3

win over Esperanza at the Wayne Gretzky Roller Hockey Center.

With a 48% shooting average the team put in 11 of 23 shots on goal.

The scoring was led by linemates Jesus Sotelo and Collin Insley with

three goals and three assists each, followed by Chris Willard with two

goals.

Zach Boston, who also had an assist, capped the scoring, while Kyle

Pfeiffer had two assists and Bryce Henrie and Lindsay Taylor scored one

goal each.

With additional support from Kevin Harris on defense, Newport Harbor

kept Esperanza contained in its defensive zone for most of the game,

resulting in only 14 shots on goal. Newport Harbor goalie, Jake Merzoian,

stopped 11 shots.
