Women’s tennis: UCI rips Red Raiders
UC IRVINE TENNIS STADIUM - The UC Irvine women’s tennis team,
ranked No. 67 in the latest national poll, handled nonconference visitor
Texas Tech, 5-2, Tuesday to extend its winning streak to five matches.
UCI’s top doubles team of Jonni Seymour and Tiffany Chang defeated No.
20-ranked Irina Tereschenko and Beverly Dawson, 8-6, to help the hosts
earn the doubles point.
Chang was also among four singles winners for UCI, including Kristina
Boss, whose 7-5, 6-2 win over Kendall Brooks upped Boss’ personal win
streak to seven.
UCI hosts Big West Conference foe Idaho Friday at 1:30 p.m.
UCI is now 9-6, while Texas Tech fell to 3-6.
