HUNTINGTON BEACH CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT WRAP-UP

WHAT HAPPENED:

The board passed a recommendation for the timeline and committee

application form for the Citizens’ Oversight Committee for the General

Obligation Bond.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The committee will consist of at least seven members to serve for a

term of two years without compensation and for no more than two

consecutive terms. The committee will be comprised of one member active

in a business organization representing the business community located

within the district; one member from a senior citizens’ organization; one

member active in a taxpayers’ organization; one member who is the parent

or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and one member shall be

both a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active

in a parent-teacher organization, such as the Parent Teacher Assn. or

school site council.
