Track: Sailors win

The Newport Harbor High boys track team defeated Aliso Niguel,

70-66, while the girls squad also came out on top against the Wolverines,

73-63, in Sea View League action Thursday.

Dartagnan Johnson took first in the 100 and the 200 while David

Springer was the top finisher in the long jump.

On the girls side, Elizabeth Clayton took first in the long jump and

triple jump and Allison Jenning had a personal best mark in the high

jump. Elda Hernandez won the 400 and Kiley Hall anchored Newport’s relay

teams. Jilliane Whitfield won the shotput for the Sailors.

Both the girls and boys teams are 2-0, 1-0 in league.
