Little League: Tigers roll to win

COSTA MESA - The Tigers used an eight-run fifth inning to break

away from a 4-4 tie and defeated the Yankees, 12-4, in a recent Costa

Mesa American Little League Majors Division game.

Andrew Millian, the Tigers’ pitcher, led the way with a solid

performance that included five innings of strong effort. Then, Alex

Moralez pitched a perfect sixth. Cody Spoulos helped out with his skills

as the catcher.

Millian also led the offensive attack, going 4 for 4 with two RBIs,

while Jason Schroeder collected three hits and two RBIs and Adam Gardner

added two hits and an RBI. Spoulos, Phillip Weber and Jake Johnston

chipped in with a single and an RBI to contribute to the Tigers’ victory.

For the Yankees, Jesse Dawson, Mike Wilson, and Andy Dawson picked up

two hits each.

In Newport Harbor Baseball Association Pinto Division action:

The Dodgers and Giants clashed in their own rivalry matchup. Kyle

Regan led the Dodgers with a perfect performance at the plate, going 2

for 2 with two runs scored. Nolan Mena, Blake Bell and Regan contributed

with pitching efforst, while Jacob Swain helped the Dodgers score six

runs.
