Let Them Eat Cake is a 7-month-old cake specialty store that’s on

Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa. Its designs are pretty amazing,

considering many of them don’t even look like cakes. They specialize in

3-D cakes and advertise that they can replicate anything. In the shop,

there was a photo of a castle cake made for a recent wedding at the

Ritz-Carlton, and there are firetruck cakes, gym bag cakes, topiary

cakes, fairy-tale cakes and just about anything you can imagine. Of

course, they also make traditional cakes for birthdays, weddings and all

special occasions. There are also fresh bakery items available, including

cookies, biscotti, scones, Danish and brownies. There are also culinary

cake classes that are forming soon and will most likely be taught on

Sundays. The classes are three hours long, and run for eight weeks. Let

Them Eat Cake is at 2346 Newport Blvd., Suite A-3, Costa Mesa. (949)
