Community college men’s crew: Pirates storm into finals

SAN DIEGO - The Orange Coast College men’s crew made the most of

its first appearance in the California Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic

Saturday.

The Pirates’ mens’ varisty eight finished with best time of the day

and qualified for today’s final following a dramatic win in their heat.

OCC’s Rob Jordan, coxed by Sierra Caldwell, finished in 6:07, grabbing

the lead on its last stroke just ahead of Colgate at 6:08.

Rob Jordan also included Chris Pope,Stuart Blair, Matt Hietbrink,

Gints Salaks, Brian Scheele, Jesse Waldowski, Alan Twigg and Mike

Krueger.

The Pirate’s novice eight also qualified for the finals finishing

second in their heat at 6:28.
