Girls swim: University tops CdM

IRVINE - University High established itself as the team to beat in

the Pacific Coast League girls swimming race Wednesday, defeating

visiting Corona del Mar, 95-75.

Sophomore Vivian Liao (25.94 in the 50-yard freestyle) freshman Jordan

Anae (54.82 in the 100 free) and sophomore Kim McKay (5:28.86 in the 500

free) were all individual winners for CdM and the trio joined Brittney

Bowlus to win the 200 free relay in 1:06.94.

Bowlus (200 free), McKay (100 butterfly) and Christina Hewko (100

backstroke) had second-place finishes for CdM, which fell to 2-1 in

league. Uni is now 3-0.
