Mariners use late rally to down Indians, 5-4

The Mariners, backed by key hits from Beau Amaral, Finn Jensen and

Cole Tisher, came up with a two-run rally in the bottom of the six inning

and downed the Indians, 5-4, in Ocean View Little League Majors Division

play.

Amaral and Jensen each finished the day with a 3-for-3 offensive

effort, and Jensen also pitched four strong innings.

Ryan Vandenburg finished on the mound for the Mariners and limited the

Indians to one earned run.

Despite the loss, the Indians remained tied for first place with the

Astros, who fell to the Yankees.

Both the Mariners and Yankees are a half game behind the co-leaders in

the division standings.

Yankees 6, Astros 5

Cole Bonnani had two hits as the Yankees needed seven innings to get

past the Astros.

A’s 3, Diamondbacks 2

In another close game, Chris Murphy’s RBI double scored the winning

run for the A’s. Andy Ragsdale pitched another strong game for the A’s.

M.J. Springer, Matt Fetters and Ryan Schulenburg paced the D-backs.

MINOR A DIVISION

Giants 8, Angels 4

Jacob Conroy and Miles Barron each had two hits, Sam Sedivy came up

with the defensive play of the game with a diving catch in the outfield,

and Ben Albert and Jordan Miller shared pitching duties to lead the

Giants.

Padres 11, Rangers 5

Trey Gourdin doubled twice in a 3-for-4 performance to power the

Padres.

A’s 16, Mariners 0

Sean Guite and Andrew Bynum combined on the pitching shutout to pace

the undefeated and first-place A’s.

MINOR B DIVISION

Diamondbacks 19, Cubs 7

The D-backs racked up 19 runs and remained in first place in the

division standings.

Cardinals 19, Orioles 16

The Cardinals outlasted the Orioles as Austin Barlow went 2-for-3 with

four RBIs, Pat Daly went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Jon Lancaster went

2-for-3 with three RBIs.
