Penman’s homer lifts Flame Throwers past Monsters, 7-6
Amanda Penman delivered a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth
inning Sunday as the Flame Throwers rallied to defeat the Monsters, 7-6,
in Huntington Beach Girls’ Softball 8-and-Under Division action.
Penman’s two-run shot added to the Flame Throwers’ home run parade
that featured solo homers by Nicole Soma and Jessica Moore.
Lauren Steele and Stephanie Johnson each finished with two hits to
lead the Monsters on offense.

14-AND-UNDER DIVISION
Team PacSun 7, Misfits 2
Led by the pitching of Michelle Fuzzard and the hitting of Kara
Rutkin, Team PacSun defeated the Misfits. Fuzzard scattered five hits and
struck out six, while Rutkin hit a home run, tripled and singled,
collected four RBIs and scored twice.
Also contributing hits for Team PacSun were Fuzzard, Heather Langner,
Eryika Rodriguez, Mica Ayache, Mallory Langford, two hits by Nicole
Acosta, and Katie Jordan scored twice.
The Misfits got a triple from Elaine Johnson, two hits apiece from
Alyssa Cooney and Courtney Krueger, and runs scored by Krueger and
Chelsea Coffman.
