Boys golf: Eagles top Mustangs

COSTA MESA - The Estancia High boys golf team used a steady and

consistent team effort to take over Pacific Coast League and crosstown

rival Costa Mesa, 197-206, at Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club Thursday.

Estancia’s Joey Mueller shot 2-over par 35, Jason Cassidy 3 over, Pete

Baker had 39 and Ryan Brown finished with 40, while Aaron Frankel came in

with 43 to keep the Mustangs (8-9, 0-7 in league) winless in the PCL.

Senior Bryce Sheridan earned medalist honors for the Mustangs,

shooting 1-over par, while Mike Gardiner (40), Billy Lund (42), Brian

Beach (44) and Devon Stephens (44) also scored for Mesa.

Estancia improved to 7-4, 4-3 in league.
