1. GET THOSE SHOPPING BAGS READY. A charity shopping event to benefit

five nonprofit organizations will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today

and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 3233

Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar. More than 50 vendors will sell

everything from handcrafted gifts, home and garden decor to jewelry,

2. BUY TO HELP THE SCOUTS. Costa Mesa Boy Scout Troop 106 will host a

rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Kaiser Elementary School,

2130 Santa Ana Ave., Costa Mesa. The troop is raising money for summer

activities that include a river rafting trip, summer camp and a trip to

3. TAKE THE GARDEN WALK. Six private home gardens in Corona del Mar

and Newport Beach will be spotlighted during the Volunteer Assn. Of

Sherman Library & Gardens’ sixth annual garden tour from 11 a.m. to 4:30

p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will be served at Sherman Library & Gardens,

2647 E. Coast Highway, Corona del Mar. $30, $25 for advance tickets.

Proceeds will go toward the maintenance of the historical and botanical
