Prep softball: Zoelle keeps it going

IRVINE - Corona del Mar High junior Alissa Zoelle, who pitched a

no-hitter against Estancia Tuesday, earned her sixth win of the season

and she banged out the game’s only extra base hit, leading the Sea Kings

to a 6-3 Pacific Coast League victory over host University Wednesday.

CdM sophomore Kianna Jaye followed up Zoelle’s triple with an RBI

base-hit in the third inning. Corona senior Andrea Gruber also had an

RBI.

Zoelle struck out one and walked three, while scattering five hits to

help the Sea Kings improve to 10-8, 6-2 in the PCL. Uni dropped to 2-5 in

league.
