Swimming and diving: Nelson leads OCC

PASADENA - Orange Coast College’s Jennifer Nelson posted a

third-place finish in the women’s 50-yard butterfly in 26.68 to highlight

the OCC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams Friday in the second

of the three-day California Community College Swimming and Diving

Championships at Pasadena City College.

The OCC women’s 200 medley relay opened the second round with a

fourth-place finish (1:54.10) with Elizabeth Klein, Stephanie Wood,

Nelson and Ashley Lowden.

The Pirates are seventh in the team standings with 173 points, while

OCC’s men are currently 15th out of 35 schools. No other OCC swimmer or

diver finished in the top eight.
