Boys swimming: CdM’s Strack wins PCL crown

Irvine - Corona del Mar High swimmer Jimmy Stack won the 500-yard

freestyle in 4:57.89 and the Sea Kings also claimed victory in the 200

freestyle relay (1:31.69) at the Pacific Coast League Finals Friday at

University High.

Corona del Mar placed second overall with 436 points, well back of

University (556). Northwood was third with 407 points, followed by Laguna

Beach (278), Estancia (110) and Costa Mesa (109).

Strack swam to second place in the 100 free (48.98), while third-place

finishes were turned in by CdM’s Bobby Messenger (100 butterfly in 59.03)

and Sherwin Kim (50 free in 22.53).

CdM finished third in the 400 free relay (3:31.49).
